The extra steps referred to in the link are not applicable for SMP3 SP08. These instructions were specific for this patch (PL03) to SMP3 SP04, where we by-passed creating an Installer and used manual installation instructions instead, because it was a production-down scenario and we needed to get that patch out asap. Please note that the comment about it being a non-production release is incorrect; the manual instructions unfortunately said “Development drop” which caused a misunderstanding because SMP3 SP04 PL03 is a production release.
Under normal circumstances (i.e., the Support Pack (SP) releases), we will use an installer.
